1. Start with private worship to open up the wisdom of God to you. If you are not yet use to private worship then let's start here: Speak out five blessings to God. "Lord I bless your holy name. You are kind, you are merciful, you are just. You are maker of every living thing and trainer of the heart. I bless you for keeping me in peace. I bless you for teaching me to give. I bless you for showing me what real forgiveness is. I give you glory and honor Lord God. Hallelujah to the king of kings!
If you honor God first He will show Himself mighty in your life. Worship creates an environment for flowing in the spirit. It helps us to take charge of our environment and usher in the presence of God.
2. The HEART work
Begin to do your HEART work. It will lead you to intercede for all of your family, friends, enemies, territories and nations. Heart work requires us to ask God to reveal the contents of our heart. As only God knows a man's heart. God will start to show you people you have not forgiven. As this is the first step in heart work, forgiveness. The forgiveness is a requirement and pre-requisite to ones discovery of their identity in Christ. The forgiveness of others and mercy to others shows us what Christ love is. For Christ paid the price for believers although we are not deserving of His sacrifice. God is the Father to all of mankind. Many families have way-word children that have strayed off and pursued their own ways separating themselves from their family. But the lineage remains the same. When we behold the power of forgiveness we become tenderhearted toward others. A burden grows for the pain and salvation of others. We can now intercede for others in a manner we never appreciated before. We now are able to tarry before God to deliver and heal our families, friends, bosses, enemies, our nation and the people of this world. We no longer are interested in what others have done wrong. Instead, we want pray them into their own identity in Christ. We want to pray them into their own season of abundance. It is hurt people that are stumbling and wounding others intentionally. But imagine a community and a world where the people are healed and prospering and interesting in healing and prospering others. Imagine a world where the people are prioritizing sharing the gifts and training up the generations to prosper instead of looking down on others. A stronger, healed and prosperous community lays the ground work for an abundant community and generation. Rather than laying up wounds, fears, struggles and hardships for the next generation. An abundant people can help others to become the lender and not the borrower as the bible declares for the people of God.
3. Your Christ Identity Revealed
Our Christ Identity is revealed when we release the pursuit of the superficial faith. You know what superficial faith is. It is the faith that says, "Well, I am a good person. Good people go to heaven." Show me where that is in the bible and I'll give you a quarter. Christ told us what to do to see the kingdom of God:
John 3:3 King James Version (KJV)3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
No where in the scriptures does it instruct us that all we have to do is be "good people". When we discover our Christ identity we learn more than just goodness. There are spiritual gifts in our Christ identity. 1 Corinthians 12 discusses the spiritual gifts. It is imperative that we communicate our desires and questions to God. He wants to show Himself mighty in our life. He wants us to exercise our faith in Him. Try this exercise in your prayer book:
Exercise (1) - Write for 5 minutes just telling God all of the desires of your heart. This is important as He wants us to trace and track Him in our life.
Exercise (2) - Write for 2 minutes asking God to reveal and grow your understanding in something, like your spiritual gifting, your areas where growth are needed in your heart, who can you bless today and how.
Exercise (3) - Write for 1 minute declaring the what attributes of God in your life: "Lord I declare I am whole. I am healed. I am prosperous. I am wise with God's wisdom. I am amenable to learning.
These exercises will help you to pursue God and become a God chaser.
